Nottingham City Guitars is primarily an instrument workshop, specialising in hand-building original NCG Guitars.
NCG Guitars are individual designs, based on a common bespoke footprint and 25.5” scale length. Each NCG guitar is unique, being hand-carved, sanded and machined. No two are ever exactly the same.
I just wanted to thank you again for the fantastic job you did on my Martin guitar. It looks as good as new(ish), which given the state you received it in is no mean feat!

You may be thinking it looks shabby. Damn right. The top is made from tiles from the old floor of Rock City, the very reason I wanted to come to Nottingham in the 90s when I was a spotty teenager obsessed with metal. If you ever went to rock city pre-2017 or whenever they took the floor up, you’ve probably walked on my guitar 😀
This amazing instrument was built by Andy at Nottingham City Guitars, who is a master craftsmen and a lovely bloke. He has lots of other models so if you’re in the market for something different.
Andy is very nice and very knowledgeable – he fitted a pickup to my old acoustic guitar on the same day and gave me some excellent advice. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him, especially if you know next to nothing about the technical side of guitars and amps. Great experience.

The Bayou is superb – fantastic – even better than I remember – and I remember an absolutely terrific guitar! She plays beautifully and sounds great even with my little pedal board amp. Looking forward to getting it out to rehearsals and an open mic we have soon! Thanks again. I will be watching your new builds with great interest!

Had cobbled together a bunch of parts to build a guitar but didn’t have the tools or knowledge to put it all together into a great guitar. Andy was great, and much faster than I had expected, and now I have a new fave Strat! Excellent service, would recommend.

Andy did amazing work re-fretting, lacquering and respraying my Strat – and went out of his way to source and fit Kluson tuners. His care and attention to detail are first-rate, and breathed new life back into a much-loved guitar. Highly recommended for the workshop and the product line – I’ll definitely be back soon!

Superb shop – unpretentious and friendly. I bought my 335, a Cornell amp, a Mayson acoustic with Marshall amp and numerous pedals from Andy, who has a wealth of knowledge and is always helpful.
